What is Near Field Communication | All about NFC

Computer world is full of terminology which is sometimes difficult to understand. Today In this article we will explain Near field communication.Lets jump o the introduction

WHAT IS NFC

Near field communication (NFC)  is a short range , high frequency wireless technology that enables wireless connection between two electronic devices within 4cm (1.6inch)

NFC was jointly developed by  The tech giants,.Philips and Sony

How does it work

NFC uses short range wireless communication standard (Ecma-340, ISO/IEC 18092) to communicate. It establishes a peer to peer connection and is easy to set up than bluetooth/WiFi.

It operates at 13.56 MHz on ISO/IEC 18000-3 air interface and at rates ranging from 106 kbit/s to 424 kbit/s.

Each full NFC device can work in three modes:
  • NFC card emulation
  • NFC reader/writer
  • NFC peer-to -peer

NFC card emulation
Enables NFC-enabled devices such as smartphones to act like smart cards, allowing users to perform transactions such as payment or ticketing.
NFC reader/writer
Enables NFC-enabled devices to read information stored on inexpensive NFC tags embedded in labels or smart posters.
NFC peer-to-peer
Enables two NFC-enabled devices to communicate with each other to exchange information in an adhoc fashion.

Applications
Today NFC technology is being used in various stores, shops, banks and even on your favourite smartphones. Most of the modern devices have built in NFC antenna which allows users to communicate data between two devices or make payments with ease. You can also share images/contacts.

NFC connections are more private over bluetooth/WiFi since it is a short range technology it prevents interference with other surrounding signals ,also it is easy to set up.

Why Choose NFC

While NFC is far slower than bluetooth in terms of speed. Bluetooth 2.1 with max speed of 2.1Mbit/s is far greater than NFC(424Kbit/s).Still it have numerous advantages over bluetooth/WiFi.

NFC provides better security and privacy over bluetooth /WiFi .Because of the short range radio frequency is used to transmit data there are very much less chances of getting inferred with other surrounding signal signals.
Deployment
After the development, Deployment is the crucial step. we have witnessed NFC enabled devices being installed in Banks for making paments, Box offices for collecting tickets,Google wallet etc..
Vodafone launched the NFC-based Vodafone SmartPass mobile payment service in Spain in partnership with Visa. Except these Samsung pay,Apple pay are also using NFC in their transactions mode.In future we will witness more applications.

Choosing the right Battery : A detailed article on various batteries and their applications

Power in terms of science usually referred as the energy for work, everything in this high-tech world requires energy to operate .This energy can be either physical , chemical or mechanical. Digital electronic devices takes electrical energy as input .Say, It is your favourite smartphone , watch or  electric car they all require electrical energy for proper functioning. source: hardwarezone.com.sg This energy can be obtained from batteries , solar panel or Home electric supply. Electrical energy supply can be categorized into AC(alternative Current) and DC(direct current). They have different applications in our daily life. Why is this the matter of talk? Today we are surrounded by electronic gadgets . It could be your laptop ,smartphone or something else . All these products are powered by some kind of electrical energy. To provide stability and mobility these products are lashed with high tech advance batteries .
